Shine's

We purchased much of our furniture and floor coverings from Shine's in Moe soon after we moved into 82 Church St. in 1966. These items are set out as follows: -
1. The main purchase was a bedroom suite of polished reddish-brown maple with inlaid yellow coloured Russian birch panels.
2. We also bought a beautiful Dining Cabinet and a coffee table to match.
3. Our lounge puchase with them was a very light cream to off-white vinyl covered three seater.
4. For lounge floor covering we bought many sample carpet squares of grey pattern with roses which we hand sewed and taped together for matting. 5. Another purchase was a 'kid-proof' kitchen table and chairs of chrome steel and a pea-green marble pattern laminex top fitted with a screwed on chrome edge strip with a lip over the top of the laminex just in case the edge lifted up due to moisture ingress.
6. For the kitchen floor we purchased a light green embossed large marble patterned linoleum with about 3 mm of cushioning and insulation backing underneath.
7. For the small bathroom we bought a strip of cheap vinyl which shrunk about 0.5" in a width of about 30" in a few years.
