Annie Tabone lived down the road from the Tangey family. Annie's younger sister Mary was in my grade. It was not unusual for knives to be thrown across the Tabone table. They really were a wonderful family, though. My mother blamed Marie Gorman's divorce on Women's Liberation Movement. I think Allan Poole, or his brother, lost an eye when using a slug gun. Gail Meadows went to a private school in Sale, St. Annes I think. A not so elderly man, works in Williamstown Newsagency, operated Yallourn North TAB some years ago.

Alan Poole and I worked together for many years. Alan had both eyes - so I guess it was his brother that got shot in the eye, however, their father Dave ( I think that was his name) was shot by a resident of the Eastern Hostel . I think the wound wasnt that seriuos as he was OK. Dave had some supervisory role at the Camps and worked with Don Planner (Linton and Barry's Dad) - Don held a responsible postion with the camps etc - he may have been Catering Officer or something similar. The shooting caused quite a stir at the time. I did not know Alans brother that well.
