Memories Resident Family House

Caught bus to kindergarten where we played dress-ups, played in the sand pit, did paintings and had bottles of milk in the morning. I remember watching Mary Poppins at the picture theatre and going to the Yallourn pool. Also the wading pool at Broadway Gardens and drinking icy cold fruit cordial with real passionfruit seeds in at Rockmans and the bus terminal. Nasturtiums, snapdragons and fuschias in front garden and a square canvas wading pool and vege garden in the back yard. Curly sticky fly catcher strips hanging from the ceiling and the old flyspray pump action cans and the colourful plastic pest strips on the back door. SEC family Christmas picnic and I received a brush and mirror set with a doll's face with yellow woollen hair in pigtails from Santa....Linda

32 Strzelecki Rd - Anthony Family

Anthony family portrait done at 32 Strzlecki Rd just as we were moving out of Yallourn for the last time.

Catherine needs to be added to the relationship column for the photos above, she is the one in the red dress

Mr and Mrs Jackson lived across the road in number 13 Ridgeway East. Mr Jackson had jeweller shop in Moe where he sold gemstones and jewellery. I remember catching a bus to Kindy and walking to Primary school. I loved going to the pool and the shops and Broadway gardens when Mum took my baby brother to the infant health centre. My first ever time at the picture theatre was to watch Mary Poppins.

We lived in Ridgeway East in 1966-67. Then moved away and came back to live in Strzelecki Rd from 1974-75.

The children from youngest to oldest were Linda, John, Catherine and James when we lived in Ridgeway East. James was born in Yallourn hospital. When we lived in Strzelecki Rd Fiona and David were the newer siblings there.
