Yallourn Baseball Club - No 5 Oval on Eastern Road.
Coach in 1960s was Mr Barnes - who had two sons who were good players.
Can anyone else help with other names - maybe some photos?

Rob & Ross Barnes were his two sons - Rob stills plays Masters baseball and lives in the Geelong area. (where the family was from originally I believe) I played baseball with the club in 1969 to 71. My older brother Greg also played - with Frank Rushton, Peter Scott (who later played with Churchill BC when Yallourn 'folded' due to closing of the town) and Rod Catchpole. Bill Lay was also involved as was his son Phillip (Phil) Lay.

The Under 16 team of 1969 that I can remember included Rob & Ross Barnes, myself, Trevor Williamson, Ray Williams and Alan Lucas. I can remember attending the Awards night at the Town Hall where the senior players put on a '
Players Revue' which was quite funny.

Yallourn Baseball Club was a team which competed in the Latrobe Valley Baseball Association.

The club had both juniors and seniors who playing against teams primarily from Traralgon and Morwell and occasionally Sale (RAAF Base).

The team's home ground was Oval No 5 located away from the major sporting precinct which overlooked the power station. During the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, the club was coached and run by people like George Evans, Colin Wale and Bill Ley just to name a few.

The club’s uniform was navy blue top with YALLOURN emblazoned across the chest, navy blue pants with a thin stripe down the side of the leg and navy blue socks with 2 narrow hoops around the calf.
