This is a 2 mins 41 secs movie taken during a school excursion to the Yallourn Powerhouse circa 1951. My grandfather Thomas Stanger worked as a Guide for the SEC between 1946 until his retirement in 1963. During that time he conducted many tours of the Powerhouse and Briqutte Works.

Thomas was employed by the SEC from 1922 to 1963
Thomas was initially employed as a cook at the Eastern Hostel and later as a telfer driver and general labourer before becoming a Guide.
During that time Thomas lived at 11 Maryvale Road and 44 Banksia Street.
