“I am just writing to let you know of the passing of my Mum, Peg Radford. Mum had been a member of YOGA for quite some years and had been to many reunion dinners etc along with her sister Ethel (Bubs) Parry (dec).
Sadly, mum passed away on the 23rd October, 2006 after a 3 year long battle with lung cancer. Mum went to school in Yallourn but moved away in her teenage years after her marriage to Ken Radford. They were married for more than 53 years until dad passed away in 2000. They were, at that time, living in Paynesville, having moved there in 1978.
In June 2003, mum moved back to Traralgon to be nearer to her family but was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2003 and bravely fought the battle for 3 years 3 months before her death. She is survived by 8 of her nine children, five of whom still live in the Latrobe Valley, her sister Una Holt, who lives locally and her brother Ron Welfare who lives in Geelong.
Mum loved to receive her YOGA newsletter and would always ring to see if I had received mine. Thank you for all the work put into producing it.
I recently joined the Friends Reunited web site after my best friend, Sue Jones (Yeomans) told me about it, and I look forward to catching up with some ‘old friends’.“
