You don’t always have to be a brown coal miner to dredge up a bit of history. Sometimes buried treasure can be discovered in an old newspaper. In this case, ‘The Argus’ (July 2nd 1956) was a ‘real find’.

A bus ticket from Yallourn Passenger Service PTY LTD, Prop. A.Maxwell. Date unknown but dad said that Mr Maxwell started the very first passenger service for Yallourn residents and was eventually taken over by Latrobe Valley Bus Service? I don't know what the "Renwick Pride" refers to at the bottom of the ticket?? I'm guessing that the 1920's truck/bus pictured at the Yallourn Railway Station in one of the pix may have been Mr Mawell's?
