Marilyn Cox
CAN YOU HELP?
This is a photograph of former Yallourn resident and Girl Guide, Marilyn Cox.
In 1959, Marilyn was awarded a Silver Medal for bravery for saving a young girl from drowning in the Latrobe River.
Virtual Yallourn would like record the story of Marilyn’s heroic act; anyone who may know of Marilyn’s whereabouts is kindly asked to contact Julie at Virtual Yallourn. Thank you for your help.
Yallourn Guest House - Office Place 1980s
Shown is the Office Place, Yallourn Guest House leased by Fred and Vera Hancock circa 1950. They were both great friends with Dr Andrew and Father Walsh at St Therese's Catholic Church opposite the guest house.
I can remember mum taking me across to see Father Walsh with the grandfather clock that was in his hall. I loved to hear the clock chime and was in awe of its mechanism....Graeme Hancock
