Lloyd Brewer played football for Yallourn Football Club before moving to Richmond FC in 1953. He was a grandson of W H (Dad) Brewer and cousin of Joyce, Ena & Verna Withers from Yallourn.
W H (Dad) Brewer set up and ran the brickworks for the SEC (1918-1920) and later took it over when the SEC didnt require bricks to build the township. Dad Brewer was a Director of 3TR, which radio station was got up and running by many Yallourn people. It was based at Trafalgar but shifted to Sale at sometime. Dad Brewer was also League President and President of Yallourn Football Club and was awarded Life Membership with a 9 ct gold badge in 1946. The pavillion at the #1 Oval was also named after him.
