Lived across the road from Yallourn High School. Always blamed for broken windows etc. Happy family - dad shiftwork; mum always there, cooking, sewing etc. Dad had a good vegie garden - we were well fed. Always had our "jobs" to do. Summer at old Yallourn pool for hours. "Bath night" was Saturdays - hairwash etc. We were sorry when Yallourn went. At our 50th wedding anniversary, there was no church or town to show children and grandchildren. We had a good life....Elvie

Trewin's used to run the picture theatre and then later the Village theatre in Morwell - had two daughters ? & Bev Christopher's had an air raid shelter in their back yard; looked like a little hill , remained until the house was removed. Lillian Beck was one of the organisers of "Thespians". Eileen Carolan acted in many of the Thespians productions and later so did I.
