As a Salvation Army lass, I enjoyed that time of life. When we first arrived, my brothers and I attended the Salvation Army. We enjoyed the theatre, loved the shops. I ended up working at General Store - always remember the air raid shelter in the back yard. I have more memory of Tanjil Place, our second house, which was a 4 bedroom and I married from there.

Does anyone remember the couple who ran a business around the corner from Dolphins book shop. I think it was a male and female hairdressers, come tobacconist. There was a chess board (I think) in the front of the shop window. I don’t remember the man, but the woman was blonde with a hairdo like Dorothy Dors (English actress). She wore tight A-line skirts, and clinging tops???

Kevin lived with William & Isabel Brown and Ross for 4 1/2 years.

Lived with Mr & Mrs Tulau and baby for 4 months - from Feb - May 1962. Mr Tulau was a Yallourn Policeman, who was later posted to Yallourn North Police Station.

Kevin lived in a men's boarding house at 31 Narracan Ave. It was not an easy environment for a 15yo to live in a boarding house with 6 men - only stayed 2-3 weeks, then moved to 7 Tarwin Gve
